Apparently the tots are becoming a new culinary trend according to restaurant girl http://www.restaurantgirl.com/
BLT prime seemed to make the cut. So I tried.
They came in a tres adorable teeny cast iron dish. And looked like, well, little stuffed mushrooms or onions. The physical resemblance stopped at the crisped crust. Inside was more like a croquette with a hint o blue cheese. Needed salt. And while i am a fan of croquettes, i am a bigger fan of tater tots done well. And these are not as inspired as a tater tot should be. A tater tot should crunch outside and then have texture of shredded potato for the tongue to sort through.
Even renamed, not sure I would hit rewind on this one. But be sure to enjoy the complimentary popovers. They are insane.
